Technology Troubleshooting

Start with a repeatable symptom and the exact values reported by the device or application. These first steps help gather evidence before changing several settings at once.

Slow File Transfers

Check the complete path: source read speed, destination write speed, cable and port specifications. A USB-C connector or a high advertised rate alone does not establish copy speed.

Repeat a comparable copy and note its size, unit and elapsed time. Pause competing transfers you control, then change one condition at a time. Use the USB transfer or download-time calculator to compare assumptions; neither runs a benchmark.

Unexpected Drive Capacity

Distinguish total capacity, used space and free space, and check the unit. A decimal 1 TB is about 931.3226 GiB before any separate space allocation.

Read the operating system's storage information and the manufacturer's capacity specification. Recovery partitions, filesystem information and existing files need separate inspection. The drive-capacity calculator only converts your entered amount and chosen reserve.

Broken Audio or Freezing Calls

Check the selected microphone, speaker and camera, plus the application's permissions. Pause a backup or upload you control and compare a wired connection or a position nearer the router.

Inspect the platform's call statistics: bitrate, packet loss, jitter and round-trip time where available. Compare its current bandwidth requirements for the call mode. Router and network evidence can help locate a problem; a bandwidth planning calculator does not diagnose it.

Keep a Useful Record

Record the application version, connection type, observed symptom and the change that helped. Share relevant statistics with your provider or device support. Keep account details and other participants' information out of public screenshots.
